Dear AP and GT Coordinators,
I am pleased to share that the Arkansas Department of Higher Education Coordinating Board met and approved a new Advanced Placement (AP) credit policy, which establishes a set of guidelines for public colleges and universities in Arkansas to award course credit for students who take advanced placement exams. Students who earn a minimum score of a three on the AP exam will have transferability of AP credit between public colleges in Arkansas. The policy provides that students who earn higher than a score of three could potentially receive more credit from the awarding college or university. I have included the press release regarding the policy and some bullet points from the policy. Several states have adopted similar policies which will help families in knowing how to plan for college. Please share this information with students and families. It is another show of encouragement for challenging course work and support for Advanced Placement in Arkansas.
We hope all goes well with the administration of AP Exams in the next few weeks. We appreciate all you do to make that process go smoothly. Happy Wednesday!
